1) Core responsibilities

• Know the venue: escape routes, final exits, assembly points, fire alarm call points, extinguishers, and any fire door/key arrangements.
• Prevent hazards: identify and act on obvious fire risks (blocked exits, overloaded sockets, hot works, unsafe smoking/vaping, rubbish build-up, candles/pyro, unattended cooking equipment, etc.).
• Maintain escape routes: keep corridors, aisles, stairwells and exits clear at all times; challenge obstructions early.
• Protect fire doors: ensure fire doors are closed/not wedged unless the venue’s system is designed for hold-open devices.
• Early reporting: report hazards and deficiencies to the Supervisor immediately; record where appropriate.

2) Your position in the command structure

• You work under the Event Supervisor / Incident Controller (or client’s Responsible Person if specified).
• Use radio discipline: short updates, clear locations, and confirmations.
• Fire radio call (no code word): use plain language.
  • Example: "Control, FIRE ALARM / FIRE CONFIRMED, location ＿＿＿, evacuating sector ＿＿＿, over."
  • If immediate danger: "FIRE, FIRE, FIRE" + location, then required actions.
